The full report.
Angels make it three from three with a professional away win
Junction Elite 0 Sue’s Angels FC 3
Sue’s Angels maintained their perfect League Eight start with a disciplined 3-0 victory over Junction Elite.
A first-half brace from Ade Owolana put the Angels in control before Charlie Dunkley completed the scoring late on. Luke Munns and the defence secured the club’s first clean sheet of the season.

Ade makes an immediate impact
The Angels needed only two minutes to take the lead.
Making his first start of the season at left wing-back, Michael Brabrook controlled the ball before lifting a perfectly weighted pass over the Junction defence.
Ade brought it down calmly and, with only the goalkeeper to beat, placed his finish to the keeper’s right.
Junction responded with a spell of possession, but the Angels remained organised. Their opponents moved the ball neatly through midfield without finding a way through the defensive shape. Most attempted final passes were comfortably collected by Luke, who remained largely untested during the opening half-hour.
Michael defended his side well, while Daniel McLane’s composure helped nullify Junction’s attempts to create an overload down the Angels’ left.
The second arrives
The Angels gradually took greater control of possession, with Stewart Luwawa and the returning Richard Epathite working through a competitive midfield battle.
Junction operated with a 4-3-3 and regularly pushed their right-sided midfielder forward to create an extra option. The Angels adjusted well, keeping their shape and preventing that possession from becoming clear chances.
At the other end, Leon Burnett’s strength created the opportunity for a second goal. Leon collected the ball during a scramble near the edge of the area, held off his defender and turned before being fouled.
Ade took responsibility from around 22 yards, slightly to the right of goal. The left-footer went to the goalkeeper’s side and found the bottom-left corner to make it 2-0.
It completed a clinical first-half brace and gave the Angels a deserved advantage.
Dean provides the outlet
Dean Knight was a constant option at right wing-back, combining effectively with Ade, Charlie and Leon.
One low cross travelled beyond three Junction defenders before taking an awkward bounce in front of Leon. The ball struck the forward’s shin and went over the bar. A cleaner bounce would likely have left Leon with a straightforward finish.
The Angels entered half-time two goals ahead, but the instruction was clear: remain focused and find the third. Junction had shown enough on the ball to remain a threat if allowed back into the contest.

Angels manage the second half
Adam Marie replaced Michael at half-time. Robert Heath moved to left wing-back, with Adam joining Jimi El Bayati and Daniel in the back three.
As expected, Junction began the second half with greater aggression. Their best move came down the flank before a pull-back found the forward inside the area. Luke saved the resulting shot, Junction’s only effort on target, and remained determined to protect the clean sheet.
That proved to be the home side’s final meaningful opportunity.
George Churchill replaced Robert after 60 minutes as the Angels continued to manage the game with maturity. The defence stayed compact, the midfield competed for second balls and the forwards continued to press Junction’s attempts to play out.
Charlie seals the result
The third goal arrived in the 84th minute and once again began through Dean.
A quick throw found Leon, who laid the ball back into Dean’s path. The wing-back delivered first time, causing uncertainty between the Junction goalkeeper and centre-back.
The loose ball fell to Charlie, who finished emphatically off the underside of the crossbar. A defender attempted to keep it out with his hands, but the ball had already found its way into the net.
It was a deserved reward for Charlie’s relentless running and pressing. He had been denied earlier by good goalkeeping and determined defending, but his persistence was eventually rewarded.
Liam Kirby replaced Charlie immediately after the goal, with Andrew Allen coming on for Dean Knight during the closing minutes.
The 150th goal
Charlie’s finish was the club’s 150th goal in competitive football.
Sue’s Angels have played 36 competitive matches* since forming in 2025, in the league and the cups, and have scored 150 times in them. The three at Richardson Evans were numbers 148, 149 and 150.
* Three of the 36 were walkovers, which count as played but carry no goals.

A complete away performance
The result gave the Angels three wins from three League Eight matches and their first clean sheet of the season.
Michael marked his first start of the campaign with an assist and an excellent defensive display. Dean recorded his third league assist of the season, while Charlie moved to five goals in three league appearances.
Ade was named Player of the Match after taking his total to five competitive goals from his opening three appearances. He has now scored five times across consecutive matches, including a hat-trick against Haydons Park and this decisive brace against Junction.
It was a workmanlike team performance built on structure, patience and clinical finishing. All three starting forwards played a part in the goals, while Luke and the defence earned their clean sheet with another composed display.
