Sue’s Angels came away from Dulwich Park with a 4-0 win over Peps All Stars and a place in round two of the Brian Howard President’s Cup. Ade Owolana scored twice, Leon Burnett and Daniel McLane got the others, and Luke Munns kept the clean sheet his manager had asked for.

Afterwards we sat down with Stephen Epathite at the ground.

If we start thinking final, and it is only round two, we will be out quicker than we know it.Hear him say it

Four goals, a clean sheet and a place in the next round. What is your overall assessment of the performance?

I am happy. Very happy with the win and with going through. We are in the draw for the next round of the other cup we want to win.

I do not think 4-0 reflected the game. If we had come away with five or six more, I think that would have been about right. Credit to Peps All Stars: they battled, and they made things difficult for us.

But the clean sheet is the thing. That was somewhere I wanted to get to, I wanted a clean sheet, and I am pleased we have won 4-0 and pleased the strikers have been in positions to score.

On another day, and without being disrespectful to Peps All Stars, they are really good guys and they battled. The crossbar and the post helped them out today, and so did our lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.

Before the game you spoke about wanting intensity from the first whistle and about improving our defensive record. How pleased were you with the way we delivered on that?

A clean sheet. I am always grateful for a clean sheet. That is my number one priority in every game.

It gives you a nice base to work from. If you are able to keep a clean sheet, it shows the other team have not been good enough to score against you in ninety minutes.

And with the defenders we have got, and the number of them, and with the midfielders, that gives the attacking players a nice base to work off. Which is what they did today.

Ade has two more goals to his tally, with Leon Burnett and Daniel McLane also on the score sheet. What pleased you most about our attacking play?

When we moved the ball quickly we had some nice patterns of play. Little one-touch movements, getting the ball out wide quickly. I thought we looked really good and really effective.

I am happy with all the strikers we have got. I am pleased with Ade and the goals he is getting. LJ was fantastic today: his first touch and his hold-up play were excellent. And Charlie’s ability to run and create his own chances, although he did not score today. On another day he gets five or six.

I am pleased that our front players are creating those chances for themselves, and other players as well. So I am really pleased with the attacking part, and with the defensive part as well.

We spoke before the game about the disappointment of last season’s cup final. Now we have cleared the first hurdle, what is the key to putting together another strong run?

The key is what I said before. It is game by game. If we start thinking final, and it is only round two, we will be out quicker than we know it.

So again, it is a process. Game by game, minute by minute, match by match, each week as it comes. We will deal with whatever comes in that week and we will see where we get to.

We return to league football next week against the division’s newcomers, Mousa Mountain, looking to make it five wins from five. What is your main focus as we prepare?

Mousa Mountain are a new team and they have not played a game yet. So in a way we are the test pilots. It is their first game. I do not know much about them, and I do not think the league knows much about them either, so the league will be watching and will probably gauge off the result how things might play out.

But we have to treat them as we treat every team. We have to make sure that we are on it, and make sure that we are ready. Winning this league is something we want to do, and I think we are in a position where we can.

They are unknown, so the league will be watching, and we are the first to play them. I think they will be up for it. We will be up for it. That should make for a good game.
